In 2022, I launched Cloud Shelter , an online gallery and project space that's dedicated to showcasing experimental digital art from artists of all disciplines. As an artist, I wanted to create a platform that would provide opportunities for artists to experiment and collaborate.

I was frustrated with the opportunities available for showcasing experimental digital art and I wanted to create an inclusive environment that fosters creativity and innovation. I took it upon myself to learn to code and design a website to serve as the foundation for this new curatorial project.

At Cloud Shelter, my mission is to promote artists who are wanting to push the boundaries of digital art. I'm passionate about providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and connect with others who share their vision and passion for experimentation.

I believe that digital art has the potential to be more accessible, engaging, and interactive, and I want to help pave the way for its future. By creating an platform that values experimentation and collaboration, I'm providing artists with the opportunity to push the boundaries of digital art and create new and exciting works.

Transient Residency is an Online Residency Programme via Instagram, supporting creatives who explore the relationship between Art & Technology. During this residency I shared works from a recent work in progress project called Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis being the transformation, change and growth of something, this project is interested in those concepts of change specific to the human condition.

Exploring ideas such as posthumanism and transhumanism, bodily augmentation, cybernetics and biomechanics. This project explores those ideas through the lens of science-fiction and fantasy. How these ideas present themselves in fiction and how they depict the enhancement of humanity, for example like the enxtention and longevity of human life or technological advancements which can aid and improve on the body.

Metamorphosis also reflects on the relationship with my own body and the concerns I have with hereditary conditions and the fragilities that come with growing older. With fantastical post-humanism in mind, I imagined these potential machine, these vessel-like chrysalis whose potential and purpose has not yet been fully realised. They could be for traversing space, or interdimensional cryostasis pods, or multi-purpose bespoke chambers to heal all ailments. Or even personal personal bunker armours to out live a potential armageddon.

Where are we now, now Jennifer is in Paradise? *

Featuring writing from Owen Ramsay and work from multidisciplinary artists Gwen SenHui Chen, Alexandros Argyros Amerikanos and Bryan Ridpath.

The show features playful enquires into futurities, feelings about our rapidly changing digital age, our sense of place and its erosion in time. An exploration and findings of what might become our (future) relics, with the birth of a new everyday in a defunct reality.

what do we call these relics?

do they have names? Or are they just things?

things that did a thing?

things that will do a thing?

things that do nothing?

things that do everything?

useless to us, what are they?

what will they be use for?

when will they be used?

who uses them?

they almost look like they do something, right?

Reconfigured Fedora, is a reconfiguration of an installation of work made for my degree show earlier in the year. The use of the name 'Fedora' comes from the Italo Calvino novel called Invisible Cities which explores imagination and the imaginable through the descriptions of cities by an explorer, Marco Polo.

Italo Calvino. Invisible Cities, Cities & Desire 4. P. 28:

IN THE CENTER of Fedora, that gray stone metroprolis, stands a metal building with a crystal globe in every room. Looking into each globe you see a blue city, the model of a different Fedora. These are the forms the city could have taken if, for one reason or another, it had not become what we see today. In every age someone, looking at Fedora as it was, imagined a way of making it the ideal city, but while he constructed his miniature model, Fedora was already no longer the same as before, and what had been until yesterday a possible future became only a toy in a glass globe.

The building with the globes is now Fedora's museum; every inhabitant visits it, chooses the city that corresponds to his desires, contemplates it, imagining his reflection in the medua pond that would have collected the water of the canal (if it had not been dried up), the view from the high canopied box along the avenue reserved for elephants (now banished from the city), the fun of sliding down the spiral, twisting, minaret (which never found a pedestal from which to rise).

On the map of your empire, O Great Khan, there must be room both for the big, stone Fedora and the little Fedoras in the glass globes. Not because all are only assumptions. The one contains what is accepted as necessary when it is not yet so; the others, what is imagined as possible and, a moment later, is possible no longer.

Yeah, about utopia ..., is a singel channel mockumetary which was created as part of a larger installation of work which was the focus for my graduate degree show. The larger body of work and this film explored themes of nostalgia and how places and things in the past were designed with a utopian ideal but over time have become concrete shells of their intended design.

This film focuses on one of the first New Towns built in the UK after the second world war, these towns were built in response to workers on London wanting somewhere greener to live, so towns like Stevenage were built to house these new workers. Except that however well intentioned the original designs for these towns was, they have become incredibly dated and neglected. Multiple decades worth of little to no investment in the local infrastructure, this combined with the ironic fact that Stevenage's town center is now being redesigned to be a place to live and commute into London dues to its close proximity to the captial and direct public transportation. That DREAM of a utopian small town for worked to escape a large city, get a comfortable job and enjoy family life has eroded.

<!--
Leonard Vincent was the Chief Architect and Key Planner of Stevenage from 1954 ~ 1962, ...

As Leonard Vincent said in Talking New Towns
